We use an AGILE product development process for user-driven innovation.

Our development process includes a steadfast commitment to user feedback. Our approach balances user needs with market trends and timeline feasibility, ensuring every update enhances your experience with practical solutions.

In 2023, we recorded more than 380 unique feature requests. Thanks to valuable input from our users and our voting system to prioritize what is needed most, we were able to roll out 77 unique and innovative features.

Last year, we released MYIO, Patient Communications, and Prospective Patient Management. This year’s features built on those innovations and expanded even more.

Prospective Patient Management Enhancements

Last year, we revolutionized your client intake experience with Valant’s integrated Prospective Patient Management system. From the very first interaction, we made it effortless to schedule appointments and manage patient data, optimizing practice efficiency and patient-provider matching. We enabled a seamless transition from prospective to current patient, all within the Valant system.

MYIO User’s Guide and Improvements

In 2023, we provided your patients with the information they need to realize the full potential of MYIO with our dedicated user’s guide. It was crafted to ensure patients and providers alike could navigate MYIO with ease. Our guide is packed with patient-centric information, allowing for a more engaging and effective experience. New features like biometric login, integrated telehealth, and more features synced with patient charts were designed to provide a streamlined journey for every user.

Care Teams

Care Teams functionality enhanced patient management by enabling the assignment of multiple providers to each patient. This improvement simplified diagnosis and billing processes, allowing for provider-specific adjustments. Our focus was on enhancing collaborative care, making it easier for teams to provide comprehensive and coordinated treatment.

Knowledge Base Redesign

In 2023, we transformed our Knowledge Base, making information more accessible and clearer. We introduced a chatbot for instant support, so help is just a click away. Our new video training library provides ongoing education and empowers our users with the knowledge to utilize Valant effectively.

Updates to ERA page

This year, we updated the ERA Page to create a more seamless and efficient ERA-processing experience. This improvement led to a significant reduction in errors and streamlined billing operations for our users. These updates provided assistance towards simplifying and optimizing the financial aspects of practice management.

New Add-On Charge Options

We have enhanced our billing features by expanding the capabilities for add-on charges. Practices were given the ability to customize and include more than the previous limit of two options for add-on charges. This change offered enhanced flexibility and allowed for more tailored billing and service customization, meeting the diverse needs of Valant practices.

Mobile Notes Autosave

We introduced an autosave feature for Mobile Notes that automatically saves your work after 30 seconds of inactivity. This improvement greatly reduces the risk of losing valuable content, enhancing reliability and efficiency for providers.

Permissions by Role

In 2023, we simplified the process of managing permissions within our system. By introducing bulk updates and role-specific settings, we made it easier for practices to control access and manage permissions efficiently. This improvement enhanced consistency and resulted in smoother operations.

Prospective Patients Landing Page

We improved the Prospective Patients Landing Page by replacing the return to the first form screen with a confirmation landing page after form submission. This transition enhanced patient clarity and overall user experience. It marked a step towards making our interface more intuitive and user-friendly, especially for new patients.

Secure Messaging

We made secure messaging more accessible by integrating it throughout Valant via EasyNav. We also enhanced the search functionality and enabled message forwarding features. To aid patient understanding and engagement, we provided clearer instructions and information within MYIO. These improvements reduced navigation hassle, increased efficiency for providers, and streamlined communication and inbox management.

Treatment Plan Launch Update

The new Valant Treatment Plan is now in beta testing.

The new Treatment Plan tool will improve your clinical and administrative experience, reduce your documentation workload, and ensure you can provide the best patient care.

Our Treatment Plan tool will offer:

  • An updated user experience with enhanced features and functionality, including treatment plans being accessible from the patient chart
  • The ability to create and update multiple active treatment plans per patient,
  • Customizable practice content libraries for treatment plans,
  • Treatment plan collaboration including changing the owner of a draft or active plan.

Treatment Plan Beta Testing:

Our team is gathering beta feedback and working diligently to refine the new UI and functionality as we prepare to release the feature to all customers in early 2024.

We’re working with a small selection of beta testers who are maintaining weekly communication with our Product and Support team. Urgent matters are routed through a dedicated Support team member.

We have tailored our approach to beta testing, matching each product’s requirements with testing periods ranging from two weeks to two months. This allowed us to delve into the functionality and usability of our products, ensuring that every feature was refined to meet your needs.

Beta tester contributions were invaluable. Through day-to-day workflows, Valant users provided insights that were crucial to our development process. Alongside feedback from surveys and meetings, we were able to gather perspectives and improve our software. Thanks to user participation, we’re creating solutions that support you as a behavioral health professional.
